Why a model should be calibrated

Energy modeling is not always accurate. Espeically, it is true for old exsitng buildings. It is important to note that the accuracy of modeling is limited not only by the inherent complexity of buildings, but also by variation in operational factors such as building schedule and occupancy, building system or equipment operating strategies, internal plug loads, and weather.1 If an energy model is not calibrated with utility data, it is not accurate. It means it should be calibrated before calculating energy cost savings.

Why should InverseAudit be used?

  • It creates and calibrates a model based on your utility data and historical weather data. This leads to an accurate and representative model of your building.
  • You can perform an energy audit which is equvalient to ASHRAE ennergy audit level II.
