Track savings

Savings tracking measures what the audit’s measures actually save. After the work is done, each year’s bills are compared with the building’s calibrated model run with that year’s actual weather.

The energy audit is posted and the building is subscribed. Savings tracking is included while the building’s subscription is active.

How it works

1. Before the measures are installed - The page shows what the selected measures would save with the last 12 months’ actual weather, updated each month, and reminder emails tell the building owner and your client what they’re missing. See Before the measures are installed.
2. Start tracking - Once the work is done, tick the measures that were installed and enter the month the work was completed. The model is kept as it is from then on. See Start tracking and measure each year.
3. Enter each year’s bills - Type them or let AI fill them in from the bill files, month by month. See Enter a year’s bills.
4. Savings so far - While a year is still open, its months with bills can be measured already, as a preliminary result.
5. Calculate the year - Once all 12 months are in, InverseAudit runs the calibrated model with that year’s actual weather, with and without the installed measures, and compares it with the bills. See How savings are measured.
6. Share it - Show the results to your client on their Savings Tracking page, and email them when a year is measured. See What clients see.

The method is IPMVP Option D, calibrated simulation: the savings are the difference between what the building would have used without the measures, in that year’s weather, and what its bills say it used.

Open the page

Choose Savings Tracking in the side menu, under Analysis, and choose the building at the top. On Energy Auditing, a posted audit’s bar also links to it. On Home, a building whose tracking has started counts under Tracking savings.

Only the building’s analyzer can start tracking, enter bills and calculate. Others with access to the building see the page read only.
