Build a baseline

A baseline is your building’s calibrated energy model. Create it, complete its four data cards in any order, then run the calibration.

Baseline status

The Baseline Workflow Status bar on the Home tab counts your pinned baselines at each stage: Baseline Created, Baseline In Preparation, Baseline Ready To Calibrate, Audit In Progress and Audit Complete. Each baseline card also shows its own status:

  • Baseline in Preparation - Data entry or the calibration isn’t finished yet, or a saved change needs a new calibration.
  • Audit in Progress - The baseline is calibrated and ready for benchmarking and the energy audit. An unposted audit shows this status too.
  • Audit posted with a date - The audit report has been posted.

An orange Outdated Baseline label means the baseline was calibrated with an older version of the calibration engine. Rerun the calibration for better results.

The Home tab

  • Pinned Baselines - The baselines you’re working on, each with its four data cards. Pin or unpin a baseline with the Pin switch on the Baselines tab, or choose Unpin in the card’s ⋮ menu. Benchmark, Energy Audit and the Dashboard list only pinned baselines.
  • View on Map - Shows your baselines on a map.
  • Baselines tab - All your baselines, with their status, meter data type, analyzer and subscription, and links to Benchmark, Audit and Edit. The Audit link works for pinned, subscribed baselines.

The Baseline Controller

Click a pinned baseline’s card to open it in the Baseline Controller on the right.

  • Baseline - Check inputs, then run the calibration. While it runs, the button shows Preprocessing and then Calibration in progress with a percentage. The Issues tab lists errors and warnings from the input check; the Stats tab shows the calibration results. See Check inputs and run calibration.
  • Member - The analysis team. Assign or remove the analyzer and transfer ownership. See Roles and the analyzer.
  • Subscription - Add the baseline to your subscription list, or cancel its subscription. See Subscribe a baseline.
